Eastern Propane (Rochester, NH)

 Job Summary:

This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of IT services for all users of the Eastern network by providing technical expertise and assistance with the installation and ongoing support of all computers, servers and portables.  In addition, this position is responsible for technical coordination of IT projects as well as research and resolution of technical problems.

Essential Functions:

·         Receive, enter and respond to help-desk emails and calls from end users.

·         Demonstrated ability to install, configure and maintain networked computer systems.

·         Responsible for ensuring IT inventory is available to maintain file servers, work stations, telephone systems, voice mail system and mainframe as well as other peripherals.

·         Stay abreast of the latest developments in Information Technology.

·         Diagnose and solve software and hardware faults and repair as required.

·         Work under considerable pressure to achieve immediate results.

·         Be “on call” may be expected and extra hours could be required to finish a job.

·         Provide information and training to end users on the usage of new and/or modified equipment and/or software.

·         Be receptive to and competently use new technologies.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:

·         Complete work assignments accurately and timely.

·         Maintain a clean and organized work area.

·         Maintain and review all help desk calls and closure of all tickets in a timely manner.

·         Keep all employee information confidential and only use employee information in the context of assigned duties.

·         Provide telephone, in-person and online support to end users.

·         Interact with co-workers in a respectful and courteous manner and maintain confidentiality of all customer and employee information.

·         Travel within a working day may be required and may be unforeseen.

·         Support Mission Statement, Vision and Core Values.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

·         Associate degree in computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

·         Demonstrated ability to read and write English and perform basic math skills.

·         Ability to coordinate, maintain and troubleshoot a computer network system and server supporting a large, complex database operation with over 100+ users.

·         Demonstrated ability to multi-task.

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

·         Knowledge and understanding of computer hardware.

·         Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
